Raurou most likely derived from the food 'rourou' which is a dish of taro leaves cooked in water and coconut milk. Raurou could also potentially have came from 'ǒu ròu' (偶肉) meaning 'even meat'.
Dersal could possibly come from the kurdish word 'dersa' which means lesson.
Raurou is a troll credited for the revival of the culinary arts on Repiton, and a well-known chef at that. He also owns a personal culinary school and teaches at it in his own time. Two of his students are Endari Vernir and Bytcon Crypto. His restaurant catered for Corporate's Awards For All Ceremony. When Secily interrogates him in Snowbound Blood: Volume Six, he helps her get an overview of the evening's events.
Raurou can be seen in the background when Ellsee teleports to Stronghold 21.
His first major appearance takes place in I2S2, wandering the streets of Stronghold 21, where he catches sight of a whimsical flash of color 
. He follows her an apartment building, where he is shocked to discover Sabine's lifeless body on the ground . However, he quickly discovers that Sabine is alive, and together, they attempt to warn the crowd gathered to witness Sestro's inauguration of Hulk Hogan and Weird Al's attack .
After [S] Incursion, Raurou and Sabine are seen recovering at Eidolic Acres .
Raurou uses a mostly formal and professional tone. He is said to be strict when teaching, but appears to be able to motivate his students to do their very best nontheless.
He shows a fear of what people may be thinking and is nervous about loud figures of authority. Raurou puts up a front around those who aren't close to him. His personality is mostly fixated on paranoia.
Lowren is Raurou's matesprit, and she was designed by Zamboozle. She is briefly mentioned in Volume 6 when Secily first speaks to Raurou.

Ramhar is Raurou's kismesis, and he was designed by Colonel Snivy. He is referenced but not named in Snowbound Blood Volume 6.
Even though Raurou is initially annoyed by the regulator's visit, he warms up to Secily, gifting her a meal and telling her to KEEP UP THAT APPET/TE FOR JUST/CE.
Raurou shows annoyance at Sabine for making him do A STUP/D SONG AND DANCE before accepting his cocoa at the Awards For All Ceremony. However, when Sabine is attacked, he quickly adopts a more parental role, trying to protect Sabine, covering his eyes when a troll is violently killed in front of them , and consoling him after they arrive at Eidolic Acres .
