Pozzol Broyer is a secondary troll in Vast Error. His associated alchemic sigil is Pulverize.

Etymology

Pozzol may be a reference to podzol, a typical acidic soil of coniferous or boreal forests.

Pozzol may also be a lengthening of Pozzo (Italian for a well). Additionally, "Pozzo is a character from Samuel Beckett's play Waiting for Godot... On the surface he is a pompous, sometimes foppish aristocrat, cruelly using and exploiting those around him."

Broyer may come from the French verb broyer, which can mean "destroy", "crush" or "wreck".

Biography

Before Snowbound Blood

Pozzol is the ringleader of the Mirthamaniacs and has seemingly had that position for a long while already, implying he might've worked alongside Fortmistress Deadlock to carry out the plan for Taz Poemme's upbringing.

As Taz was growing while a part of the Mirthamaniacs, Pozzol was abusive towards her. He constantly pushed on her how Fortmistress Deadlock is her ancestor and that Taz is "lucky" to be in her current situation with everything about her planned. If Taz showed any resistance to him, he would continue pushing her and threaten violence against her.

Pozzol began noticing Vilcus Cendum's disinterest in the Mirthamaniac's actions and their worries for Taz, but his attempt of speaking to Vilcus about it further falls short, causing Pozzol to want to investigate further on his own. This investigation leads to Pozzol finding out about Vilcus' bondmate, Sterco Exurdo, who Vilcus was keeping secret. Pozzol ends up murdering Sterco, ripping the heart out of the rustblood's chest and beginning to wear it around his neck.

When Taz, covered in Vilcus' blood, comes up to Pozzol, he seems to believe that Vilcus is dead. Eventually, Pozzol agrees to let Taz out, with the condition that she will continue to listen to their demands such as sometimes coming back or doing certain requested murders.

During Snowbound Blood

Volume Seven: Of Bounties and Botany

Pozzol appears in Necron Exmort's route. He was leading a group of Mirthamaniacs meeting with a group of Harbingers of the Alpocalypse, led by Talald Hieron. He was holding an alchemical-looking stark black book, presumably given to him by the Harbingers of the Alpocalypse, which Secily Iopara and Necron attempted to take via ambush. Pozzol briefly engaged in combat with Secily before fleeing, disappearing into thin air with Talald.

Pozzol strongly implies that he himself christened Taz as a Mirthamaniac. He is also the abuser of Taz.

Talald Hieron

Pozzol and Talald frequently work together as part of the collaboration between the Harbingers of the Alpocalypse and the Mirthamaniacs.

Trivia

• It is said that he got the hand on his necklace after smashing a unknown rustblood troll's face into the counter and taking it as punishment for supposedly getting his order wrong. However, Talald says that the rustblood didn't even work there.
