An ancestor, in troll biology, is an individual troll who one shares a direct genetic makeup with. At any point in a troll's life, they may have their DNA collected to later be cloned, a process referred to as "re-duplication." These genetic clones are referred to as descendants. It is exceedingly rare for a troll to know their ancestor given the extended gap of time between the initial collection and cloning.
Socially, ancestors are referred to by their titles. A title is given to a troll should they live long enough, and said title is named in relation to their actions and standing in life.
