Typing Quirk

A typing quirk is a systematic method of typing, in almost all cases deviating from the standard usage of punctuation and capitalization, though grammatical rules are generally upheld.

Quirks are commonly carried over into written text, though they may vary from the standard online usage due to the different medium. In troll culture, seeing writing in a given troll's quirk is considered validation of identity as good as recognition of handwriting.

Trolls' Quirks

Ellsee	Standard. Occasionally enunciates words with ALL CAPS.	Generally uses standard punctuation. Substitutes ! and ? with ¡¡ and ¿¿, respectively.	Substitues E's with Σ.	They have been shown to use =:(, =>:0, and =:'(.	None.
Albion	No capitalization, however they occasionally enunciate words with ALL CAPS.	Only uses ending punctuation. They speak in sentence fragments and only use ending punctuation at the end of their sentences.	Substitutes spaces with ∗.	None.	Prefixes messages and ending punctuation with with ∗.
Serpaz	Typically none. Types Skorpe handle acronyms in ALL CAPS.	Only uses ending punctuation and does so liberally.	None.	They have been shown to use (|:D, (|:o, (|:/, and (|;).	All of their messages are in the Comic Sans MS font face.
Laivan	Standard. Occasionally enunciates words with ALL CAPS.	Generally standard, however they do not use periods as ending punctuation.	Substitutes ending periods with -.	They have been shown to use standard emoticons such as :).	Occasionally Woof-s.
Occeus	Standard.	Does not use punctuation except for ! and ?.	Substitutes O's with .o.. Substitutes the pronoun I with eye.	They have been shown to use cB}.	None.
Tazsia	Fluctuates. Occasionally enunciates words with ALL CAPS. Uses ALL CAPS when angry.	Standard.	Substitutes T's with +.	They have been shown to use +M+.	Prefixes and suffixes all messages with ~.
Murrit	Typically none.	Generally does not use punctuation except for ! and ?. Uses proper punctuation when they are being serious.	Substitutes H's with #	None.	Prefixes and suffixes all messages with >([ and ], respectively. Typically uses an informal tone of speech, such as saying howeva instead of "however" and ya instead of "you".
