== Etymology ==
Necron comes from "Necro-", a root word meaning death. Exmort is likely a play on his assumed necromancy, as his victims would be "ex-mortem". More likely, his full name is derived from the [https://evildead.fandom.com/wiki/Necronomicon_Ex-Mortis <u>Necron</u>omicon <u>Ex-Mort</u>is], from the Evil Dead series.

Before the events of ''Snowbound Blood'', Necron had a short-term job as a manager at a Supermart store. He received many ''Employee of the Blink'' plaques over the course of his job, to the point where he needed a box to carry them all in by the time he was finished.

=== During ''Snowbound Blood'' ===
Necron makes his first appearance in [[Snowbound Blood: Volume Seven|''Snowbound Blood'': Volume Seven]], starring in his own route. By the time he meets [[Secily Iopara|Secily]], he's a vigilante also known by the alias ''Ashbringer.'' He takes it upon himself to exact justice on people he deems require it. After a short scuffle, he defeats a troll in combat who preyed on unbonded trolls, before making Secily's acquaintance.

== Personality and Traits ==
Necron speaks in a very outdated manner, using slang words like "groovy," and "natch," and frequently uses pet names with anyone he talks to regardless of age or gender. When not cleansing Repiton of the wicked, he has a very relaxed and casual demeanor. Even when he is on the job, he has a love for preceding/following up his killing blow with a witty one-liner. He seems to be somewhat desensitized to blood and gore, not being concerned at all about making a mess and even offering a quite literally bloody handshake to Secily upon meeting her for the first time.

Necron is a little hotheaded and is prone to jump to conclusions and rush into action at a moment's notice. As such, he constantly gets into scraps and generally has a very unkempt and tattered appearance. Secily believes he wears these scars and tears as badges of honor.

There is a plethora of contradictory information and gossip about Necron, his character and his job. He is equally feared and reviled in the criminal underworld. He admits that people don't always get why he does what he does, and confesses that perhaps it is for the best. His primary aim is to rid the world of evil, something he wishes he could have seen in his role models growing up.

=== Oricka Rourst ===
Necron and [[Oricka Rourst|Oricka]] have been matesprits for decagrades. He is not ashamed to tell people how much he loves her, whether it be directly or indirectly, and vice versa. The two are very affectionate towards each other, and Necron displays nothing but absolute adoration and appreciation for her being in his life.

Despite their steady romance, Necron mentions in Snowbound Blood: Volume Seven that they haven't bonded yet. Even though they both have wanted to for some time, Necron both worries about her regretting [[Troll#Bonding|bonding]] with him and his safety with the high stakes of his job.

=== Secily Iopara ===
Necron and [[Secily Iopara|Secily]] share many similarities, thematically and otherwise. Though Secily doesn't start off by treating him any differently (and flat-out doesn't consider the possibility of tracking him down until much later in her quest), he quickly rubs off on her and builds up a rapport with her. They share a love for weaponry, a hatred for Noxious, and play a similar role in ensuring the disposal of their respective targets on Repiton (though Secily is a professional, whereas Necron roams around on his own). He's quick to refer to her by several pet names that Secily immediately disapproves of and warns him against.

By the end of ''Snowbound Blood'': Volume Seven, Necron agrees to form an alliance with Secily to track down Noxious, thus giving her a form of partner that she is normally notoriously bad at gaining.

== Biography ==
Valtel is a reclusive sculptor known for his lifelike work and the many rumors that surround him. His sculptures are noted on several occasions to be so detailed that they make the viewer feel uncomfortable. Valtel lives alone in a mansion that features a large and overgrown hedge maze, which houses some of his sculptures. Additionally, he is a former member of a cult known as [[The Mora]], which [[Endari Vernir|Endari]] was once part of.

During the events of [[Snowbound Blood: Volume Eight|''Snowbound Blood: Volume Eight'']], [[Secily Iopara|Secily]] and [[Necron Exmort|Necron]] find Valtel in a very distressed state. After a bit of conversation, it becomes clear that he is experiencing an extreme form of matesprit withdrawal. Valtel also questions Secily and Necron on how they got past the "things" in the maze, but when pressed for further details he provides nothing. His reluctance to answer Secily's questions persists, eventually leading him to paralyze her before Necron knocks him out and carries them both away.

As of [[Vast Error: Intermission 2 Side 2|Intermission 2 Side 2]], Valtel appears to be taking refuge at Eidolic Acres with some of the other Snowbound Blood characters.

== Personality and traits ==
Valtel presents himself as pessimistic, often speaking his words with a deadpan tone. He has a sort of mask and attempts not to appear vulnerable, even though he continuously hides his face behind his hands and avoids eye contact.

When Secily asks him about the sculpture he is currently working on, he seems to light up a bit in response, most likely showing that he has a particular fondness when it comes to his art no matter what.

'''Ellsee Raines''', also known by their [[Skorpe]] handle, {{VE Quote|ellsee|existereOracle}}, is one of the [[troll]]s and is one of the main characters in ''[[Vast Error]]''. Her associated alchemic sigil is Mercury and her horns are long, thin and sharp. They are the most important character in ''[[Vast Error]] ''according to [[White Noise]].

Ellsee is based off of the "All Important Plot Character" fantroll archetype.

She, her [[Ancestors|ancestor]], and [[Lusus#Chimera lusus|her lusus]] are the only beings on [[Repiton]] to have ever had lime colored blood. Their blood has potent life-bearing properties and could be the secret towards gaining untethered immortality as expressed by [[Occeus Coliad|Occeus]]. It could also potentially carry some sort of curse to those who have the blood in their system.

She was the seventh troll introduced and the first troll introduced in [[Vast Error: Act 2|Act 2]].

Not much is currently known about Ellsee before the story begins.

=== Pre-Game ===
Ellsee is first introduced at the start of [[Vast Error: Act 2|Act 2]], where they are sitting in their [[Ellsee's hive|tent/hive]]. She receives a message from her [[Quadrants|matesprit]] [[Occeus Coliad|Occeus]], who she had messaged days ago and has only just responded. The two discuss the implications of Occeus' possible breakthrough in his work, apologizing for neglecting Ellsee. He emphasizes the importance of his work to revitalize the planet, and Ellsee voices support, but is left feeling insecure. Out of a feeling of inadequacy and loneliness, they reach out to [[Arcjec Voorat|Arcjec]], asking him if they are likeable. Arcjec, despite insisting that he's the last person anyone should seeking out for advice, offers some anyway. The conversation leads to Ellsee to find the resolve to finally meet Arcjec in person and introduce herself properly.

After arriving at [[Arcjec's hive]], Ellsee tries to get his attention at his window by throwing a rock. The shock of seeing an unknown troll at his window leads Arcjec to fall out of his second floor window into the mud below and passing out.

Ellsee loses her nerve and has started to walk home, but quickly circles back around when she sees that a meteor is flying towards it. They find his hive in shambles, but bizarrely mostly intact, with Arcjec nowhere to be found. She then learns of the game and the fact that [[Murrit Turkin|Murrit]] had intended to exclude her from it. They return to their hive and reach out to Occeus again in a panic. Occeus tries to comfort a distressed Ellsee until he reads the memo himself.

Occeus is distressed at the absurdity, yet possible reality of the situation presented by [[The Game]] and the fact that it necessitates abandoning [[Repiton]] and making all his work to save it irrelevant. Having learned that he's meant to work with [[Calder Kerian]] in the game, an outraged Occeus messages the sea dweller. As Occeus fumes, Ellsee is left in the dark. She messages Murrit for answers, but he coldly tells her that he knows that she cannot be trusted, and for everyone else's sake, that she should get lost. Realizing that they won't be getting any help for the time being, they try to forget that conversation.

Shortly after, Ellsee message Arcjec and is relieved when she gets a response from him. The two discuss the events of the night, with Ellsee forced to admit that they know more than they've let on to Arcjec. As the conversation ends, Arcjec tells Ellsee that when things have calmed down, they should meet and just hang out, and that she should tell him what she's been meaning to say.

Ellsee makes their own memo and pointed includes everyone, attempting to share their own knowledge of the game that they obtained through a cryptic old book they inherited from their [[Ancestors|ancestor]]. [[Sovara Amalie|Sova]] chimes in with her own theories and mentions that she has encountered similarly cryptic scrolls that appear to pertain to the game as well. However, Murrit immediately leaves the memo after it is made, and Calder and [[Tazsia|Taz]] don't take long to follow suit out of their own dislike of Ellsee. Additionally, the whole memo quickly goes off topic. [[Laivan Ferroo|Laivan]] later mentions to Murrit that Ellsee had told Laivan that she was quite personally hurt when Murrit left the memo.

They later frantically messaged Occeus, telling him that after they had responded to him, they went to Arcjec's hive again only to find out that his hive is in shambles and a huge meteor was heading towards it. She then tells him that she quickly went inside, in hopes of finding and save him only to find out that he was nowhere to be seen and his lusus was screaming for his owner. They also tell him about Murrit's memo that they had been excluded from, the Game, and that he will be working with Calder.

Ellsee is included in Arcjec's memo and angrily responds to Murrit's message.

=== During the game ===
Ellsee has entered the game as of "[S] Ellsee: Enter."; however neither her land or platform are shown.

Ellsee appeared in one of Murrit's flashbacks, wherein they were doing a ritual before an unknown event had happened, which made Murrit scared of them and decide to keep them out of the game.

Finally, Ellsee is on screen again not too long after the start of [[Vast Error: Act 3, Act1|Act 3 Act 1]], where they participate in Arcjec's memo. Though she doesn't respond until she's tagged by Arcjec, who demands to know where she is and what she's doing. Ellsee reveals that after all of the portal hopping they'd been doing, they were exhausted and took a nap in the snow in their land. Later in the memo, they talk to Occeus about the work they had done together to work towards making Repiton more liveable, and if that work meant anything.

After, a flashback is shown of what Ellsee was up to before the memo started. Her land is finally named the [[Land of Vigor and Tundra]], and she proceeds to fall asleep on the snow, just like she said she did.

Ellsee dreams of the past, when they lived with Arcjec, and the things they did together. Ellsee and Arcjec are shown dancing together before Arcjec stumbles, causing them both to fall down in a fit of laughter. Arcjec says he's hungry, so the two of them go and get food. Ellsee discusses how she forages for food, and Arcjec lightheartedly argues that the natural food she brought is gross. Ellsee insists that they prefer their organic foods over Arcjec's processed food, and the conversation shifts. Arcjec compliments Ellsee's new look, saying that it's coming along nicely and that it suits them. She's is very happy about this, and she states that she agrees. Ellsee briefly mentions that it took her a while to find a look she was comfortable with, but that she's happy with her appearance now. The topic changes and they discuss Arcjec's cancelled plans, which he seems to be unbothered by. Ellsee talks about how they wish they could go with Arcjec, but they're not allowed to. The two of them go back and forth about Arcjec being allowed to go to the stronghold while Ellsee has to stay at home, and Arcjec suggests sneaking them out. They decline the offer, saying they'd both get in trouble, and Arcjec agrees that they're probably right. Ellsee stays silent for a moment while Arcjec draws. Finally, she asks them how they're always okay with everything, including bad things like their cancelled plans. Arcjec thinks for a moment, before saying that he doesn't have an answer. He says that he just is the way he is, and Ellsee is just the way she is, and that's okay. Ellsee reveals that she wishes she was more like them, since they have friends and get to go out and do things. Arcjec argues that those are their friends too, but Ellsee insists that they're only really there for him. Arcjec doesn't let that slide, however, and he proceeds to talk about how Ellsee is great. He promises that even if everyone else forgets how amazing they are, he won't. Arcjec stumbles over their words, but tells Ellsee that they're a family, which makes her happy.

Ellsee's dream is promptly interrupted by White Noise. They fall into [[The Static]], where they see Bonehilda and Boner, and finally White Noise himself. He asks if Ellsee remembers him, but she just gets startled. She throws her staff at him, causing his left arm to fall off.

==Personality and Traits==
Ellsee is a rather eclectic troll with similarly eclectic interests. She is a practitioner of potion-crafting and various forms of magic. They are however a strong opponent of fortune telling and considers anyone who claims any knowledge of the future to be a charlatan, despite having possibly practised it themself in the past. She is also a dancer by trade.

As the only living troll on Repiton to have her blood color, she lives a nomadic life on the road, discretely avoiding the undue attention of anyone who would want to get their hands on her blood's life-giving properties. This kind of life has led them to become a staunch survivalist.

The neglect she faces from Occeus' workaholic tendencies have lead her to become somewhat insecure, exacerbated by the natural physical withdrawal she faces as a result of her not seeing her partner in some time (a result of sexual intimacy in Repitonian trolls).

===Occeus Coliad===
[[Occeus Coliad|Occeus]] is Ellsee's [[Quadrants|matesprit]], and they are one of the few trolls in the cast to have been sexually intimate with one another.

Due to Occeus' workaholic nature and his desperation to preserve his planet, Occeus is unfortunately rather neglectful of Ellsee, leaving them to suffer from symptoms not unlike withdrawal in his absence (as is the case for Repitonian trolls who have been intimate with another and do not see each other for extended periods of time). Occeus regrets this, and realizes that Ellsee deserves better, but will nonetheless prioritize his work over her. This neglect has left Ellsee to feel increasingly insecure in Occeus' absence.

Ellsee often volunteers the use of her lime blood for Occeus to use in his biological experiments, due to the blood's unique life-bearing properties. Occeus is the only troll that Ellsee trusts with her blood.

===Arcjec Voorat===
Ellsee is not bothered by [[Arcjec Voorat|Arcjec's]] cantankerous attitude or even his depressive apathy, and seems to be genuinely fond of him, to the point that they actually find his insults to be kind of funny. She is even comfortable enough to reach out to Arcjec for advice despite Arcjec insisting that he isn't the best moral support (he tries to give her advice anyway).

The two appear to share some sort of deeper connection that Arcjec isn't aware of. Ellsee often tries to introduce themself to him, but regularly fails to do so out of nervousness. It's worth noting that their ancestors had known each other in life.

[[Tazsia|Taz]] and Ellsee do not like each other, and it is implied there may be some black feelings shared between the two. Ellsee is quite annoyed when she has to think or interact with Taz, and Taz appears especially impatient with Ellsee.

=== Murrit Turkin===
[[Murrit Turkin|Murrit]] appears to greatly dislike or distrust Ellsee for reasons unknown to her, to the point that he actively tries to keep them out of the game.

===Calder Kerian ===
Like pretty much all the other female trolls, and all the other trolls in general, Ellsee does not like [[Calder Kerian|Calder]] and considers him to be a chauvinistic prick. Calder is demeaning and talks down to Ellsee at any opportunity, refusing to let her prove her worth.

In the Pre-Game, the two had reached into an agreement with Ellsee providing any means of information that can help them win the Game in exchange, Calder will make sure that Ellsee is included and wanted in any situation the trolls are in.

===Laivan Ferroo===
Laivan and Ellsee are longtime friends, and the two are on amicable terms. Laivan is very upset when people mistreat her and belittle her, and is willing to come to her defense when others put her down or ignore her.

*Ellsee apparently commits arson regularly.
*Despite being the 7th troll introduced, Ellsee is technically the second troll seen in Vast Error, as they were seen shortly after Arcjec's introduction.
*The life-giving properties of Ellsee's blood, and her association with mercury reference the archaic belief that mercury had healing properties found in various school of ancient medicine and alchemy. It was once believed that mercury was the key to eternal life.
*Ellsee's screen name, and name in general, have a lot of foreshadowing to them.

Ellsee makes their own memo and pointed includes everyone, attempting to share their own knowledge of the game that they obtained through a cryptic old book they inherited from their [[Ancestors|ancestor]]. [[Sovara Amalie|Sova]] chimes in with her own theories and mentions that she has encountered similarly cryptic scrolls that appear to pertain to the game as well. However, Murrit immediately leaves the memo after it is made, and Calder and [[Tazsia|Taz]] don't take long to follow suit out of their own dislike of Ellsee. Additionally, the whole memo quickly goes off topic. [[Laivan Ferroo|Laivan]] later mentions to Murrit that Ellsee had told Laivan that she was quite personally hurt when Murrit left the memo.

They later frantically messaged Occeus, telling him that after they had responded to him, they went to Arcjec's hive again only to find out that his hive is in shambles and a huge meteor was heading towards it. She then tells him that she quickly went inside, in hopes of finding and save him only to find out that he was nowhere to be seen and his lusus was screaming for his owner. They also tell him about Murrit's memo that they had been excluded from, the Game, and that he will be working with Calder.

Ellsee is included in Arcjec's memo and angrily responds to Murrit's message.

Ellsee has entered the game as of "[S] Ellsee: Enter."; however neither her land or platform are shown.

Ellsee appeared in one of Murrit's flashbacks, wherein they were doing a ritual before an unknown event had happened, which made Murrit scared of them and decide to keep them out of the game.

Finally, Ellsee is on screen again not too long after the start of [[Vast Error: Act 3, Act1|Act 3 Act 1]], where they participate in Arcjec's memo. Though she doesn't respond until she's tagged by Arcjec, who demands to know where she is and what she's doing. Ellsee reveals that after all of the portal hopping they'd been doing, they were exhausted and took a nap in the snow in their land. Later in the memo, they talk to Occeus about the work they had done together to work towards making Repiton more liveable, and if that work meant anything.

After, a flashback is shown of what Ellsee was up to before the memo started. Her land is finally named the [[Land of Vigor and Tundra]], and she proceeds to fall asleep on the snow, just like she said she did.

Ellsee dream of the past, when they lived with Arcjec, and the things they did together. Ellsee and Arcjec are shown dancing together before Arcjec stumbles, causing them both to fall down in a fit of laughter. Arcjec says he's hungry, so the two of them go and get food. Ellsee discusses how she forages for food, and Arcjec lightheartedly argues that the natural food she brought is gross. Ellsee insists that they prefer their organic foods over Arcjec's processed food, and the conversation shifts. Arcjec compliments Ellsee's new look, saying that it's coming along nicely and that it suits them. She's is very happy about this, and she states that she agrees. Ellsee briefly mentions that it took her a while to find a look she was comfortable with, but that she's happy with her appearance now. The topic changes and they discuss Arcjec's cancelled plans, which he seems to be unbothered by. Ellsee talks about how they wish they could go with Arcjec, but they're not allowed to. The two of them go back and forth about Arcjec being allowed to go to the stronghold while Ellsee has to stay at home, and Arcjec suggests sneaking them out. They decline the offer, saying they'd both get in trouble, and Arcjec agrees that they're probably right. Ellsee stays silent for a moment while Arcjec draws. Finally, she asks them how they're always okay with everything, including bad things like their cancelled plans. Arcjec thinks for a moment, before saying that he doesn't have an answer. He says that he just is the way he is, and Ellsee is just the way she is, and that's okay. Ellsee reveals that she wishes she was more like them, since they have friends and get to go out and do things. Arcjec argues that those are their friends too, but Ellsee insists that they're only really there for him. Arcjec doesn't let that slide, however, and he proceeds to talk about how Ellsee is great. He promises that even if everyone else forgets how amazing they are, he won't. Arcjec stumbles over their words, but tells Ellsee that they're a family, which makes her happy.

Ellsee's dream is promptly interrupted by White Noise. They fall into [[The Static]], where they see Bonehilda and Boner, and finally White Noise himself. He asks if Ellsee remembers him, but she just gets startled. She throws her staff at him, causing his left arm to fall off.

==Personality and Traits==
Ellsee is a rather eclectic troll with similarly eclectic interests. She is a practitioner of potion-crafting and various forms of magic. They are however a strong opponent of fortune telling and considers anyone who claims any knowledge of the future to be a charlatan, despite having possibly practised it themself in the past. She is also a dancer by trade.

As the only living troll on Repiton to have her blood color, she lives a nomadic life on the road, discretely avoiding the undue attention of anyone who would want to get their hands on her blood's life-giving properties. This kind of life has led them to become a staunch survivalist.

The neglect she faces from Occeus' workaholic tendencies have lead her to become somewhat insecure, exacerbated by the natural physical withdrawal she faces as a result of her not seeing her partner in some time (a result of sexual intimacy in Repitonian trolls).

[[Occeus Coliad|Occeus]] is Ellsee's [[Quadrants|matesprit]], and they are one of the few trolls in the cast to have been sexually intimate with one another.

Due to Occeus' workaholic nature and his desperation to preserve his planet, Occeus is unfortunately rather neglectful of Ellsee, leaving them to suffer from symptoms not unlike withdrawal in his absence (as is the case for Repitonian trolls who have been intimate with another and do not see each other for extended periods of time). Occeus regrets this, and realizes that Ellsee deserves better, but will nonetheless prioritize his work over her. This neglect has left Ellsee to feel increasingly insecure in Occeus' absence.

Ellsee often volunteers the use of her lime blood for Occeus to use in his biological experiments, due to the blood's unique life-bearing properties. Occeus is the only troll that Ellsee trusts with her blood.

===Arcjec Voorat===
Ellsee is not bothered by [[Arcjec Voorat|Arcjec's]] cantankerous attitude or even his depressive apathy, and seems to be genuinely fond of him, to the point that they actually find his insults to be kind of funny. She is even comfortable enough to reach out to Arcjec for advice despite Arcjec insisting that he isn't the best moral support (he tries to give her advice anyway).

The two appear to share some sort of deeper connection that Arcjec isn't aware of. Ellsee often tries to introduce themself to him, but regularly fails to do so out of nervousness. It's worth noting that their ancestors had known each other in life.

Secily is a variant of Cecily, a real-life name ultimately derived from Latin ''caecus ''(blind, dim-sighted). Iopara possibly comes from Iopara Inc., a wind turbine company.

Secily first met [[Ahlina Robiad]], the woman who would become her bonded matesprit, when they were children. She recalls the memory of defending her from some bullies in ''[[Snowbound Blood: Volume Eight|Snowbound Blood: Volume Eight.]]'' Secily's desire to protect and make the world a better place for her childhood love was partially what spurred her to seek a career in the regulatory workforce.

Many sweeps later, as Secily was starting to become a notable regulator, Ahlina was kidnapped and killed after a ransom request sent to Corporate was not met. Secily was then assigned a TEMP, [[Mshiri Libeta]], to help her deal with her grief and withdrawal symptoms. Though frowned upon due to their client-TEMP relationship, the two eventually entered a legitimate moirallegiance.

After she was promoted to Chief Regulator, one of the highest positions she could possibly have in the Corporate hierarchy, Secily was personally assigned by [[Clarud Enthal|the Executive]] to be a guardian and mentor to the newly hatched Corporate heir, [[Sestro Enthal]], and his future advisor, [[Hamifi Hekrix]]. The three would then go on to have a sort of familial relationship, strained over the sweeps by their respective positions and responsibilities within the company.

== Personality and Traits ==
Secily tries to project cold, calculating authority and is quite cynical, harboring some pessimistic views on society and its inhabitants. She strives to keep an air of professionalism around her at all times and struggles whenever things aren't under her control, even as her inner thoughts expose that she can be quite humorous (and even silly) when the mood strikes.

She is an extremely guarded individual, although there are certain people with whom she is comfortable letting her armor slip -- namely, Mshiri Libeta. At times, Secily also has trouble reading people's tones and facial expressions, which can lead her to assume foul play and hidden motives when there are none. When she feels threatened or upset, she can display quite the explosive temper.

She is also an extremely by-the-book individual, finding comfort in rigid structures and routine and loyal to the Corporate institution to a fault -- many times, to her detriment and that of others'.

Secily has a mutation which allows her to recall any face, event or information she has previously learned as she pleases. In Snowbound Blood's narration, this is likened to information being photocopied directly into her mind.

However, when Secily learns that Sestro has entered a weakened state from overexerting himself, she's immediately concerned and questions Hamifi's decision not to call her about it. Hamifi soon after expresses that Secily taught Hamifi to not be sentimental nor trustful, but somewhat smiles when Secily admits that she does trust her. She's shown to have felt guilty about the way she raised Hamifi and Sestro in Volume 9 of Snowbound Blood, where she watches Hamifi play with children while in disguise.

Secily's relationship with Sestro and Hamifi becomes somewhat strained when she learns the truth behind her matesprit's death, despite their lack of actual involvement with the incident, but rather through association. Valtel is a reclusive sculptor known for his lifelike work and the many rumors that surround him. His sculptures are noted on several occasions to be so detailed that they make the viewer feel uncomfortable. Valtel lives alone in a mansion that features a large and overgrown hedge maze, which houses some of his sculptures. Additionally, it's implied that he is a former member of a cult known as [[The Mora]], which [[Endari Vernir|Endari]] was once part of.

During the events of [[Snowbound Blood: Volume Eight|''Snowbound Blood: Volume Eight'']], [[Secily Iopara|Secily]] and [[Necron Exmort|Necron]] find Valtel in a very distressed state. After a bit of conversation, it becomes clear that he is experiencing an extreme form of matesprit withdrawal. Valtel also questions Secily and Necron on how they got past the "things" in the maze, but when pressed for further details he provides nothing. His reluctance to answer Secily's questions persists, eventually leading him to paralyze her before Necron knocks him out and carries them both away.

As of [[Vast Error: Intermission 2 Side 2|Intermission 2 Side 2]], Valtel appears to be taking refuge at Eidolic Acres with some of the other Snowbound Blood characters.

Valtel presents himself as pessimistic, often speaking his words with a deadpan tone. He has a sort of mask and attempts not to appear vulnerable, even though he continuously hides his face behind his hands and avoids eye contact.

== Biography ==
Valtel is a reclusive sculptor known for his lifelike work and the many rumors that surround him. His sculptures are noted on several occasions to be so detailed that they make the viewer feel uncomfortable. Valtel lives alone in a mansion that features a large and overgrown hedge maze, which houses some of his sculptures. Additionally, it's implied that he is a former member of a cult known as [[The Mora]], which [[Endari Vernir|Endari]] was once part of.

During the events of [[Snowbound Blood: Volume Eight|''Snowbound Blood: Volume Eight'']], [[Secily Iopara|Secily]] and [[Necron Exmort|Necron]] find Valtel in a very distressed state. After a bit of conversation, it becomes clear that he is experiencing an extreme form of matesprit withdrawal. Valtel also questions Secily and Necron on how they got past the "things" in the maze, but when pressed for further details he provides nothing. His reluctance to answer Secily's questions persists, eventually leading him to paralyze her before Necron knocks him out and carries them both away.

As of [[Vast Error: Intermission 2 Side 2|Intermission 2 Side 2]], Valtel appears to be taking refuge at Eidolic Acres with some of the other Snowbound Blood characters.

== Personality and traits ==
Valtel presents himself as pessimistic, often speaking his words with a deadpan tone. He has a sort of mask and attempts not to appear vulnerable, even though he continuously hides his face behind his hands and avoids eye contact.

When Secily asks him about the sculpture he is currently working on, he seems to light up a bit in response, most likely showing that he has a particular fondness when it comes to his art no matter what.

He was first revealed in the February 18th Trollodex, alongside [[Bytcon Krypto]]. Their bullet points were:

==Etymology==
Cadlys is a corruption of the word "catalyst". Rankor most likely comes from the word "rancor", meaning "bitterness".

== Biography ==
Cadlys is an avid chemist, creating potions and acids of many different kinds and selling the ones they consider to be failures on the dark web for a living. They make these concoctions in the safety of his bunker, located somewhere within a graveyard of skulltitan bones near [[Occeus's hive|Occeus' hive]]. They also live with their bonded matesprit, Mariel, and Dia, a young troll the two of them took in at some point in the past.

His goal is seemingly to create "aqua vitae", the water of life, which [[Secily Iopara|Secily]] notes as a liquid said to cleanse rivers and "bring those who are suffering back to reality once more." Their motive may be to heal Repiton and restore it.

During the events of ''[[Snowbound Blood: Volume Six]],'' Cadlys invites Secily inside his home to talk, although he cannot offer more than anecdotes about his experiences having [[Aumtzi Maught|Noxious]] as a client. At the end of their route, they point Secily toward Oricka's matesprit and known vigilante across Repiton's criminal underbelly: [[Necron Exmort]], the Ashbringer.

As of [[Vast Error: Intermission 2 Side 2|Intermission 2 Side 2]], Cadlys appears to be taking refuge at [[Eidolic Acres]] with some of the other Snowbound Blood characters.

== Personality and traits ==
Cadlys is the type of person to conceal his true self, as seen by his literal mask and his metaphorical mask, his wide grin. They tend to be casual about most things. However, when it comes to things such as a certain concoction named Takeaway that he has stored away, the mask comes off and he presents himself as cold and dead serious, changing his quirk as a result.

They also became a bit vulnerable when talking about Dia, most likely having a very personal connection to whatever happened to her.
